The Wolverhampton Marathon has been part of the local scene since its original foundation in the 1980’s. There was a short period when it did not take place and then it was revived in 2002 by Carvers, to their great credit. This was our first year involved with this remarkable event and we were incredibly honoured to be asked to be one of the headline sponsors.
Huge credit goes to the Marathon Committee at Carvers, the marketing team at OLCO design and Vernon Dodd, The sponsors; The Grand Theatre, Banks Brewery and Paycare, all the support staff, the volunteers and the residence of Wolverhampton who filled West Park and lined the streets cheering on and supporting the participants. Without everyone pulling together and embracing the sense of Community the event wouldn’t have been the same.
Thankfully the sun was shining and the day ran perfectly, and more importantly the staff and their families that took part in some of the events managed to get into work on the Monday morning.
