The Government is finally expected to publish its long-awaited Housing White Paper today.
The emphasis is thought to be on setting out a strategy for building more homes in both the rental and owner-occupier sectors, with encouragement particularly for the build-to-rent sector.
Housing minister Gavin Barwell has already said there will be something in the White Paper about older people downsizing, and building on the Green Belt.
Publication of the White Paper had originally been expected in November, and then December before communities secretary Sajid Javid said it would come in January.
There has been speculation since the start of 2017 about disagreements and rewrites of the paper.
