Home sales hit their highest level of the year so far in November, figures from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have shown.Some 85,000 homes were sold in the UK during the month, the highest monthly figure since July 2010 when 89,000 properties were sold.
The total marks an increase of 6,000 homes on October this year and is also up by 9,000 sales compared with the same period last year.
The November figure was boosted by an uplift in sales in England, where 73,000 properties were sold compared with 68,000 the previous month, according to the figures published on HMRC’s website.
Sales in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland remained broadly unchanged on October’s figures.
