2006 heralded the start of a significant period of change with the formation of a new estate agency under the name of Berriman Eaton. This new firm was created by the merger of two of the Midlands most respected residential estate agencies, David Berriman Estate Agents and Eaton Estates. We joined forces in order to provide the only specialist estate agency in the middle to upper end of the market with offices in South Staffordshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands and experienced a highly successful first year of trading.

Berriman Eaton currently has three offices which are based in Tettenhall, Bridgnorth and Wombourne.

The firm is run by the two principals, Nick Berriman and Caroline Eaton with David Berriman as a consultant. Between us we have over eighty years of professional experience within the local market. We feel that the merger proved to be an extremely positive step in an ever competitive house selling market with a wider catchment area providing an increased number of properties for purchasers to view and thereby giving vendors a higher exposure to buyers. The positive effect of the combined databases has already been seen to be of an immeasurable value and, we are pleased to report, all three offices have noticed a marked increase in the number of enquiries.

David Berriman opened his agency in 1990 and in 1998 Nick Berriman returned from working in an estate agency in Knightsbridge, London to join David and between them they ensured that the firm was a dominant force in the local agency market. Caroline Eaton formed Eaton Estates approximately 13 years ago and in this period has developed a similarly enviable reputation. There has always been an excellent relationship between the two practices and, indeed, David actually trained Caroline in his previous firm and appointed her as a branch manager at the age of 19, surely one of the youngest estate agents in the UK ever to have held such a position. Nick and Caroline have also been friends for many years.

One of the principal philosophies of Berriman Eaton is to provide a professional service to our clients and as such we are pleased to announce that we are full members of The National Association of Estate Agents. Nick Berriman is a Fellow of the NAEA and is currently secretary of the Birmingham Branch and has a law degree, Caroline is a Member of the NAEA and David is a Fellow of the RICS. The firm is also a member of the voluntary Ombudsman Scheme.

Whilst remaining true to all of the traditions of a local estate agency, including personal attention from the three principals, we are utilising modern technology in all aspects in order to enhance the service provided. The extensive website database for properties will be updated daily with the fully integrated software system linking all of the offices. The most recent innovations for marketing are in place such as emailing of details to prospective buyers within minutes of them making the request, either by phone or on the internet. Much emphasis, as always, will be placed on the presentation of sales brochures which today is more important than ever and professional photography services and floorplans will always be offered.
